IKIGAI: A REASON TO JUMP OUT OF BED EVERY MORNING

Ikigai is penned by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles. It is a book that highlights all the aspects of life which can help to achieve us a long and happy life. The book is based on a well-practiced ancient technique called Ikigai.

The authors draw a lot of references from Okinawa, an island in Japan. Okinawa is an island where majority of the people are centenarians. The book tries to make you understand about the meaning of Ikigai and then tries to explain the beautiful art of staying young while being old. Reference of five Blue Zones from across the world has been given in the book. Blue Zones are the places where people have longer life span than the average. The book discusses about the secrets of their long life.

The book mentions how stress and a lot of sitting adds up to age and consequently, reduces the life. Though, interestingly it says that littlie stress is good as it keeps one person going.  Also, the authors focuses in diving deep into discovering the meaning of life. The book talks about finding the flow in everything that one does. Later, they stress on immersing into the experience if you discover the meaning of life without being distracted by the surroundings and later it becomes your flow.

The authors talk about some techniques to practice to achieve the flow. They discuss about various different, well-practiced techniques like Mediation, Yoga, Radio Taiso, and Tai Chi. They help in keeping the mind and body intact.

This is extremely inspiring, full of positivity and various well practiced ancient techniques that can help people to get their flow of life!
